03/20/16

Speaker: Mark Petersburg

Series: The Lord Never Fails

Summary: How do you evaluate what happens in your life? What is the framework or context that gives meaning and perspective to those things? Two foundational truths are prominent as the story of Ruth reaches its conclusion: the providence of God and the faithfulness of God. These truths will shape the way you view events in your life: good and bad.

Series: The Lord Never Fails

Summary: The Providence of God encompasses both the good things and the bad things that happen to us. Naomi and Ruth experience the latter through the loss of their husbands. But God extends his grace and provision to them through their kinsman Boaz. In this delightful love story, we see good things happening to them despite the fact that they were undeserving. What a picture of our lives when God extends grace to us! He takes the initiative and, though we deserve nothing, shows his love by working on our behalf.

Speaker: Mark Petersburg

Series: The Lord Never Fails

Summary: One of the great love stories in the Bible is the book of Ruth in the Old Testament. In and through it all stands the providence of God, one of the great doctrines of the Bible. The God who created and sustains everything there is knows and cares about his people. And he is working for their ultimate good and his glory all things according to his eternal purposes. When bad things happen to you, how do you guard yourself against bitterness, even to the point of blaming God? This message explores what you can do when you feel life has dealt you a bad hand.
