Summary: Jacob’s messy life follows him from Canaan (after he deceives his father into giving his blessing to him rather than Esau the firstborn) all the way to Haran where he is deceived by his uncle Laban. Jacob: A Messy Life - Act One

08/04/19

Speaker: Mark Petersburg

Series: Jacob: A Messy Life

Summary: There is a theme that runs through the family of Abraham, recurring over and over again. It shows up in the focus of this message series in the person of Jacob. Here it is: “Life is messy; God is faithful.” There is a cycle of family dysfunction that we see early on in Jacob’s life. He is a man who deceives and manipulates at his mother’s insistence to achieve ends that God had already promised. Do we see anything of Jacob in the story of our lives?
