Children's Ministry

The Mission of Children's Ministry at Knollwood Community Church...

Children's Ministry includes children ages newborn through Grade 6. The purpose of Children's Ministry is to reach out to children and to teach them to know, to love, and to serve Jesus Christ all the days of their lives. Our hope is that children and their parents will find a place to belong here in our church community. Parenting can be really tough, and it’s not something to undertake alone. In addition to ministering to the needs of the children here at Knollwood, the Children’s Ministry also strives to connect parents and help them form meaningful relationships with each other through Bible Studies and Community Groups.

Elementary Programs: Kindergarten – 6th GradeGeneric Kids Connection Graphic

We have two programs for Elementary Age Kids. Both use age specific curriculum produced by Orange. The goal of this curriculum is to use Biblical stories and teachings to impart 3 Basic Truths to our kids:

  • I need to make the wise choice.
  • I can trust God no matter what.
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Each program is age specific and incorporates small and large group teaching elements. Kids in our Elementary Programs (Kids Connection and Fusion) will sign in prior to the worship service between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. Sign in is located in the Foyer of the Worship Center. They will participate in the worship service with their parents for the first 15 minutes, then they will be dismissed to their classroom locations.

Kids' Connection: Kindergarten – Grade 3
When: Sunday Mornings - 10:30 a.m.
Where: Fellowship Center
What: Children in Kids Connection will have a great time building friendships with other students, participating in hands on learning activities, and above all, learning about the great love of Jesus!

4-6gradefusion.JPGFusion: 4th – 6th Grade
When: Sunday Mornings – 10:30 a.m.
Where: Back Hall of the Worship Center
What: Your preteen is capable of so much! They long to be a “big kid” but still want to have fun like the “little kids”. This is the perfect place for them to transition into the teenage years. Students in this program will build meaningful friendships, grow in their faith, and learn what it means to put their faith into action.

Looking for VBS?

While we love VBS here at Knollwood, we will NOT be having it during the summer of 2018. In July 2018 we hope to start construction on our brand new Family Center! When completed, this will be a fantastic space for all of our Children’s Ministry classrooms on Sunday mornings. Because of uncertainties regarding the impacts of the construction, we opted to skip VBS this year and focus on planning and preparing for this new space. If you have any questions, please contact our Children’s Ministry Director, Katie Conaway (Katie@Knoll.org)
